Lots of Beer and Smoke ( lots of smokers ) in Germany. My company
had a exhibit at Productronica. Did stop by the ESIO booth. They
had an impressive array of products. The Dynamotion machines are impressive. Doing a little research on that little acquisition, found out
some of their major customers are IBM and Johnson Mathes which
supply for Intel. The new 2300 is a cute little machine. It is mainly
targeted for the Asian market. The only company doing any type of
Chip R in Europe is Vishay. They did have a sign up showing that
AISI is now part of the Vision group. So the deal must be going
thru. The laser drill product line was unique at the show. I see a
lot of potential for the drilling product lines.

IBM announced that they are going to spend $700 on a new plant
to do 12 inch (300 mm) wafer processing. This could be bullish for the semi equipment industry. The Japanese market going up 8% will
also help.
