Why Apple will crash and burn. 50% or more of profits for Apple are derived from the iPhone. Yet for the first time we are seeing iPhone sales collapse and in fact could be 30% less than the previous quarter. In addition, with no 4G iPhone in sight, things get progressively worse for Apple. Add to the no longer need for a MAC with iOS 5, and you can see that the iPhone and iPad are the final nail in the coffin for the Mac line. But don't take my word. Listen to developers. Mac is DEAD. There was a report from Morgan Keegan suggesting that the Android phones in aggregate match the iPhones sales at Verizon and nearly so at At&T. Message 27423300 more detail found here, where the same source indications that the Droid Charge is the best selling Andorid model at Verizon. Message 27425099 Seems to me that Sly is putting a lot of faith on 2 weeks of the Thunderbolt's initial sales data and extrapolating forward. I find it believable that at launch, the Thunderbolt had sales that placed it in the same neighborhood as the basal iPhones sale rate. But at this point, the iPhone has got to be outselling it 5 to 1.
