Agreed.. but US was first state to mandate that religion and government could not be one and the same. Gov't could not promote any religion over another, nor could any religion dictate terms to the government.

And I agree.. We have to be careful about how propaganda is used to unite the people. Some of these threats can be manufactured, but we also have a tendency to be in denial about obvious threats that are growing like a nasty cancer, and eventually require the "pound of cure" when an "ounce of prevention" might have sufficed.

Churchill rang the alarm about Hitler many years before the majority of people finally caught the "clue train". And tens of millions died as a result of their self-delusion and denial.

I feel the same way about Militant Islam. It's a threat, but without taking the actions that we have, it could have easily grown to a larger threat (and still may).
