Churchill rang the bell about Hitler but gassed the Kurds

Different era.. Different values.

We find the use of Gas warfare abhorrent now.. primarily because it caused so many horrific casualties during WWI. But the attitude then (and often now) is that "uncivilized tribes" can be brutalized.

Killing is killing, whether by bullet, by bayonet, or by gas, nuke, or biological. It's strange how we try to "civilize" something as brutal as war. Not sure who said it, but war should be brutal and nasty, and over with as quickly as possible..

So we're given a vivid and graphic reminder as to why we should never go to war in the first place.
