I saw parts of that Stossel program and I would like to say it was an eye opener for me, but just more confirmation of what I have seen for years. Conservatives recognize the problem and so do many liberals, yet the liberals insist on following their Democrat leaders into the toilet as it flushes. Many Republicans acknowledge the problem but for the sake of elections want to make smaller cuts "over time" and we just don't have time. The portion of the Stossel programs I saw very frightening was on the constant pressure of large and small lobbyists.

Odd how the Democrats demagogue over pushing granny off the cliff "for elections sake", but care little about doing exactly that with jobs and pension obliteration. The only pensions that appear safe are the federal pensions as they will always print money to cover them.

I didn't catch the Stossel program, but I'll watch it here later.
