Its relevant since you brought up the topic of the worst culprit behind the increase in deficits.

The answer is non-security related domestic spending, or more specifically entitlements.

And entitlements are scheduled to become an even worse problem going in to the future. They are the real budget problem already, and going forward they are almost the entire problem other then perhaps interest on the debt.
