I don't think Alghieri was saying that, but he seems to be assuming that the Bush tax cuts did not have any effect in cutting short the Clinton recession of 2001.

You seem to think the Bush (Obama) tax cuts and their three wars are responsible for all our ills. And that the wasted trillion dollars stimulus has nothing to do with the mess we're in.

These things played a major role of course...between the tax cuts and the wars bush doubled the national debt at a time when it was poised to decrease...you may disagree with the stimulus was but it was just a policy response to an economic condition obama found when he came to office...in the context of effect on the debt, unlike the tax cuts and the wars which continue to deepen our debt each and every year, the stimulus was a one time expense of 800B...

Do you think it makes sense to blame the collapse of real estate and ensuing economic woes on these ostensibly unrelated events? And where do you find any connection? What is the rational chain of events that led from one to the other?

Why is it fair for you to blame obama for the stimulus and for allegedly making the mess he found worse but not fair for me to criticize bush for presiding over the conditions that preceded the mess...and for failing to diagnose the impending collapse and take action?
