So let me get this straight...five or so years before bush comes into the white house, while the economy is going great guns, members of the clinton team fail to listen to an obscure official predicting that the financial system would collapse on the kind of these derivatives...so great believers in free, deregulated markets (i think you're one of them) fails to act...then bush comes to power and for 7 years he does exactly the same thing...fails to do anything as well...

There are no limits to your willingness to condemn GWB for the actions of Democrats.

GWB DID NOT "do the same thing". Brooksley Born was NOT knocking Bush's door down saying, "You have to listen: There is a huge problem here", only to be run out of her office on a rail by Rubin & Clinton.

Had her message been heeded at the time, the financial collapse of the late GWB years would NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. Period, end of story.
