<<Any relation to Micron Tech is a negative. DRAM pricing continues to plummet and that affects MUEI. Embedded perception that Dell, Compaq, HWP, and IBM will get bigger at expense of Micron, Gateway, others. Association with Micron Tech seen as a negative (same as first sentence). Disappointing quarter or two. >> Everyone knows that MU produces commodity DRAM and that business sucks . MU has given MUEI the Samari chipset and the new 3 piece chipset for the cheap consumer boxes. IMHO from a tech stand point the association is a big positive for MUEI. This is why their stuff is always ahead of the big boys. Amazing isn't it ? Why does the street view the ___% ownership of MUEI by MU as a neg., other than the fact that it would make a buyout more difficult ? Falling DRAM prices will hurt Spectek margins, but should help MUEI's PC unit margins. What is the net effect? My only knock on MUEI was that their marketing was terrible and nobody knew who they were. They are fixing the marketing problem well as broadening their product line, and forming strategic partnerships that should allow them to better compete with the big boys. The hundreds of awards their products receive every year should confirm to the buyer that MUEI is the tech leader. So you've got a co. with a broad line of award winning products, selling at a discount to the competition, and the world is just beginning to hear about them. The stock is selling at a PEG 1/2 that of CPQ and DELL. If they can execute their business model, this stock is an excellent buy. Unfortunately for me I realized all this awhile back and bought 5k at 16.5 so my timing is bad, as it has always been. I bought INTC after the 75mhz Pentium bug. My uncle told me I was nuts and that Intel was toast, and that nobody was going to trust their chips after that fiasco. I asked "who's chips are they going to buy?" Every time I see him I laugh about Intel going out of business ! The last time I saw him I told him I was buying ASND (it was in mid 40's !) Ooops! I'm hoping that the worst is over for both MUEI and ASND and their stock price will reflect the improving fundamentals over the next couple of Q's. Regards, Lee
