WSJ-Yahoo! plans to launch a Chinese-language version of its popular Internet search engine in early 1998.

interactive.wsj.com

The Chinese version, aimed at Internet users in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia -- as well as Chinese-speakers outside Asia -- will be the company's fifth project in Asia. It follows similar sites in Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, and a Singapore-based site that essentially mirrors the U.S. site.
