ypz,

I'm not sure what Island is designed to do, but I can tell you what has happened to my orders on Island.

I once had a limit order to sell entered on island and at the time I entered it the price was between the spread. However, within a few minutes the bid moved up to my limit order and sat there for over 2 minutes, but no fill. The bid then moved up higher than my order to sell if only for a few seconds. Still, no fill. The bid moved back down through my order, and my order was never filled. Granted this was a fast moving stock and all this movement happened over a 10 minute period. However, island seems to lag with fast moving stocks and my limit order was not given proper representation.

When I called Datek, they told me that they could not guarantee me a fill. No kidding.

Mike.
