Doug--What's DIS's read on HURCO. Also, any opinions on VII? The chart looks good and I was wondering about the internals. Myron

Hi Doug,

Thanks for writing; I haven't lost too much confidence, just quite disappointed after the last couple weeks since I know I made mistakes. But I know the key thing is not to lose confidence. I will need to examine carefully my buy/sell actions (as advised by ONeill) and hopefully learn from my mistakes. Since I am new to all this, mistakes are bound to be made, and luckily I found your group early enough so that my losses of the past weeks should be offset. ;)

Right now actually I am quite impressed with APCO and plan to open a position today. It has held up extremely well, been trading in a very tight range over the last couple weeks after making it's high, and is still very near the top of it's channel. it's technicals are still extremely strong too.
RECY happens to be my favorite all-around pick, because the fundamentals are so strong. It also hasn't lost it's technical strength. I think RECY could be a good choice right now too.

ABR has a 6.9% yield?? i have to check that out! ;)

Otherwise, I'll keep looking for new ones to contribute here.

From IBD (Investors Business Daily):

On friday, the ratio of public short sellers compared to NYSE specialist short sellers (public/specialist) was at a 5 year low, at .56 [though they report the date as 10/31/97, which I think is a misprint, or they only update it every two weeks if so, it's kind of annoying to get the info 2 weeks later!]. This number has been over 1.0 since I've been watching it. IBD says above 0.6 is bullish and below 0.35 is bearish.
Relatively speaking then, the .56 number is relatively bearish.

Just for everyone's information....

Doug R, there's a lotta bottom fishing going on now, but I gotta go
for the best charts and underlying fundamentals.

Out of all your POWs (and pretty much all the hundreds of stocks
I've looked at this weekend that I don't already own), I'm going to
go for APCO this morning because it stands out from the crowd.

Great stock appreciation potential yet downside looks like 5 3/8
max. short term. Short interest trending lower past few months
while daily trading volume picking up significantly.

So APCO is my POD.
