There's another branch off to the left that they are hop/flying to. They might be there. I've been watching them most of the day and haven't seen them take off yet.

I've seen them shaking their heads. The parents do it too. I'll bet it's insects bothering them because it's only just started recently.

Maybe they are shaking the baby feathers out of their heads so the new ones can grow in....

Or maybe they are really saying...."Man that flying stuff is REALLY scary for awhile"...."Never thought I'd feel so giddy about landing"....<gg>
