There is no need for the most part to use Clique with them. My ancient answering machine uses mini-cassette, and I can't think of a time when I needed to pop out the tape. To use Clique in an answering machine, you would have to tack on the extra OEM price of what, $75? You can get a digital machine already for that price alone.
