Ha, TuneUp just alerted me that there is very
low disk space of 0% on this HDD that refuses to
format.

This is actually interesting: When I had a stab
at it by booting from my Acronis bootable CD,
I made it to sector 73,872 before hitting useless
disk.

Also the rescue partition used to be "PQSERVICE"

so this not so refurbished drive, googling that, looks
like it came from an Acer PC.

Things you learn when you fiddle.

People should know that when you use Windows disk management
that sometimes your new disk will show up high in the list
around disk 0 or disk 1, but if you actually make any
progress formatting, you may see it way down the list (and
therefore you may have to scroll down) where I found it
again just now at volume J (which is 0% available, heh).

I'm going to let this spin another half hour before
it officially becomes a paperweight.
