The GFC that you refer to was caused by government intervention in the markets.

But it is important understand that it was not an isolated event. The dotcom boom was certainly amplified by government programs. And the bigger the boom, the bigger the bust.

To get the economy back on track, the government..our government....focused on real estate wealth. Our government mandated that financial institutions give loans to unworthy recipients.

Further, government entitlement programs have put economies worldwide into crisis situations. Greece is a prime example. They are on the brink of collapse and the recipients of the entitlements are not willing to give them up to save the economy.

Our current GFC is absolutely connected to government intervention in economies worldwide.

We should probably change the topic to something a little more environmentally focused. oh say, like the government mandating the use of CFLs.

Otherwise, you may have the last word on the topic.
