I've never tried it on a 3 meg connection but I would bet you could. You might need to start the download 10 minutes or so before you started viewing so you wouldn't run into any buffering but even if it did happen you could always pause it for a few minutes and get a beer or a snack or answer the call of nature and let it get back ahead.

I have a daughter living in the mid west where her only option is dial up or DSL..she's had DSL for a couple of years and says she has no serious problems streaming Netflix. She does get occasional buffering..maybe once every couple of movies, for a minute or so.

I believe that Netflix streaming requires 4+Mbps. You can call them and they'll give you all the information. Just go to their website and look up the phone number.
