When a man has a gun to your head, what is the most important issue at that moment? i don't have the gun pointed at my head because i'm doing drugs. i don't do drugs. the gun is there for other reasons. Our community has that gun directed at them all the time. your community is the minority. This represents a group that have been highly motivated by those that wish to kill them or put them in a cell. only highly motivated for those that use drugs illegally. i'm motivated to legalize drugs too. just not as much as you are. the drug war is bad policy because it creates a police state that ends our personal sovereignty, and limits our freedom. it creates violent drug cartels. it's very expensive and also weakens our economy. it drains resources that could be used on real crimes like theft, murder, rape etc, etc. all that is true, but it will mean little in comparison to our economy being destroyed and people being locked up or worse because they want to remain free.
