CYBERKEN, LGND is definitely heading in the right direction. It's up to 14 3/8, which is a marked improvement over Friday's low of 13 5/16. LGND does have quite a bit of news lined up, and I'm not sure when it will be released. Perhaps the ALRI call is causing a news log jam, or maybe they are giving some of the analysts a few more days to come on board while the price is so low. Last week wasn't the best time for news, due to market conditions, but now things are beginning to improve.

Diabetes is in the popular press via AMLN (Barron's last week and NY Times today), but that news hasn't done much for their stock price (of course the delay in FDA filings probably was the overiding factor in that case).

CYBERKEN, The Lilly drug will most probably be announced within 2 weeks of the closing of the Lilly deal, which is contingent upon the closing of the ALRI deal, which has not yet closed. Although LGND has the option of not taking the Lilly compound, it is my belief, based on vibes from my attendance at the OPCO conference that they will pick a compound. Since there was no reason to assume, right after that conference, that the ALRI deal would take so long to close, Henry's assumption of a quick selection, at that time, was most plausible. It will most probably not take too long after the ALRI deal closure before we hear that the thread , led by squetch & his houndogs [that means you, Andy et al], picked the actual compound in Sherlockian style. Bernie. P.S. If Andy is not Henry, I would submit that he must be tonyt.
