when i did my brief 4 day stint on facebook i found out that facebook scours more than just your contact list to link you to friends.

it looks at anyone you have blocked or been on an email chain with...

i was shocked to see that people who were BLOCKED from gmail acct were suggested as friends.

i suppose it also does the reverse...it takes ur email address and then scours everyone else accounts to see if you are 'friends'
