Our country has UNDERspent on the rebuilding of crucial infrastructure at home by several trillion dollars...and we can't afford to play expensive war games and do critical spending at home at the same time...Life's a series of compromises and a strong president would get us almost totally OUT of Afghanistan in 2011 -- who cares what kind of political pressure you have to deal with as it's the right thing to do...over 2/3 of all American citizens want to get out Afghanistan and END the war now -- and it's the popular and appropriate thing to do.

If Americans are in favor of getting out, then the political pressure is to get out, not stay. In fact, he is a fool for not closing down Afghanistan this year before his election in 2012.

Therefore, has it crossed your mind that Obama may have good reason to not go running out the door? After all, he's an intelligent man and does not have a history of being a hawk.......and he is privy to info the public doesn't have. Something to think about...........

The ONLY reason for staying in Afghanistan is to use it as a base to watch Pakistan. We could do that from Kabul, with a tenth of the troops and no war in the countryside.

The only other reason is to pimp the military-industrial government complex. We should make a law that prohibits former high ranking officers for working for any part of it, which would make the military MUCH less attractive.

I'm waiting for the first (R) prez candidate to run on ending the wars.
