jadrew Ireally do not know how to answer your post since it contains even more erroneous information and assumptions than Jon birds. lots of research relates to "lots of time on his hands" wonderful deduction but wrong. You failed freshman logic. Because one is retired does not mean that we do nothing. I spent as much time researching the market before I retired as I do now. 2nd para.... Wrong again, even weak companies sometimes for short periods of time have phenomenal income. Saying I do not know and than investing anyway is in fact guessing and over the long run will lead to disaster. 3rd para. Where did you get the idea that high PE companies are stronger fundamentally. I am not interested in getting into a verbal joust with either of you since it would serve no useful purpose. I was under the assumption that you were both looking for information that would make you better investors. Since you are not thanks for the post.
