Peter: Before you pan that venerable old institution, Scientific American, you should go back to grade school and learn the basics === "encryptian", " retreiving". Give us a break!

Hi Peter,

I've been a Datek customer for almost a year now--and very satisfied. However, today was horrible @ open & close -- shut out of all servers. I agree w/ The Vet--the problem traces back to Datek on this one. Please fix for tomorrow & tell us how this will be avoided in the future.

Thanks,

Greg

OFF TOPIC -

2) Scientific American has become a relatively low grade science journal. First it dropped printing equations, then it went for more and more pop-culture science, and now its a half step above Popular Science. I cancelled my subscription when i read an article about "Asbestos, that magic mineral".

The latest example of that is the December issue, wherein they devote a whole article to attempts to extract "zero point" energy -- another name for a perpetual motion machine.

Incidentally, SI lets you include much more HTML in your personal profile than it does in messages -- check out

Datek... Thank you. I don't know what you did but server response the last 2 days has been much better than the last 3 months. Keep improving the important things... BTW, I also would like to see B&A sizes on the quotes servers...

Peter, here's a nifty little bug. Got this in e-mail today:

Dear Mr. Jonathan Tara:

A stock in your portfolio: ##VAL1##, has paid you a cash dividend of: $##VAL2##.
This change has been posted to your account, user name: ##VAL3##.

Tracking # W-000-0009-5360

(No need to let me know what ##VAL1##, ##VAL2##, and ##VAL3## are - I checked the history and already know. :) )
