off topic, Kim's post had so many persons reading it that it exceeded what SI could handle. Kept getting a message to try again later. Goes to show the respect Kim has on this thread. I hope we can say the same thing about current management.

Maintenance of mining rights is handled by a consulting firm. The annual fees are sent well in advance of the due date. The rights that Naxos has on Franklin Lake are mining claims rights. The vast majority of the claims are on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and State of California lands. Several years ago the State of California issued a quiet title (the claims can't be contested). I am not fully aware of all of the rights/legal circumstances surrounding the rest of the Desert Dirts/Clays.
