i seem to recall some kind of wire brush being used to scrape the road rash from my skin

oh god, I remember that from one of my bicycle crashes where my whole left side was road rash. I actually had to go to the ER because I landed my hip on the curb and had a big laceration right at the hip bone. Walking was a challenge for a couple of weeks. I still have those scars.
