Back in the day, all you'd see on Hwy 395 were cars with ski racks on top. Now it's motor homes towing a dirt bike trailer and toy box.

There's a lady who works in one of the shops in Lone Pine who I stop and visit whenever I go up that way. Her husband is the sheriff. An ambulance and cop car were speeding out of town and she said that it was probably a dirt bike rider down. Majority of the calls they get - some for the hikers on Mt. Whitney, but most are bikers.
