You pick the three political points that you want most to push. In our case, it might be economics, foreign policy and health care. Then confine your message to those three items.

In Reagan's 1980 campaign it was called the "Three Legged Stool." Strong defense, strong economy, strong family values. It drove the media crazy that they couldn't goad him into stepping off that platform.
