People don't think about private property when they're having fun. The area I'm talking about was originally a gravel pit and when the miners moved out the bikers moved in. We went there the first time to find mushrooms and couldn't believe what yrs of off road biking could do to an area. It wasn't a safe place to walk. Bikers buzzing here and there and everywhere and deep ruts in the trails. I didn't realize that all these yrs it was county land. I guess they got enough complaints they finally decided to take ownership and do something to make the area accessible to everyone? From what I've read, it will be closed for 2 yrs for design and renovation
