There seems to be a disconnect with many people, and I think only a few of the are glbts, between realizing Obama has spoken for full civil rights for us, and done quite a bit in that regard. He has, however, been honest about his personal feelings. But his personal feelings aren't the point, his support of our civil rights, in spite of personal feelings, is the point. I don't care if he believes in ssm or not. If he doesn't? we don't do lunch. Simple enough.

It seems like everyone has this perfect president in mind and when Obama falls short, they get angry.

A president can't push hard for something when the country isn't ready. It took several years for NY gays to get legislation in front of their legislature. Californians defeated Prop 8. When its that difficult in states like NY and CA, then you know the rest of the states are still years behind. It will happen but not overnite. Its frustrating but patience is required.
