Mine is a very clear self defense situation complicated by the existence of the 74 marijuana plants. It could be entirely my fault, doesn't change what takes place at that moment. I expected to go through hell in the court system with a strong chance of a long time in prison. The coin it cost me to do so .. I was one of those that got the law on the ballot. I was in a race. Change the law before I got caught. One of the things it cost me was that I had to give up the race. There was no way out without wearing handcuffs. And I figured I would likely get shot. I voted I wasn't going to be the only one. Growing the marijuana? Many would argue that wasn't my brightest move. My case showed a potential of joining forces between NRA folks and the mmj folks. Some folks would like to avoid such joining of forces. Good to avoid bad press during election time. But one of the things is that now .. it's 4:30Am .. and it sure would feel good to be holding that 9. Some of the bad players are back in town. So I watch out the windows and listen for small sounds. I've concluded that I should not have tried to protect my dogs by sending them inside that night. I should have just opened the door and let the pit bull out. Should leave a good trail. Still got the pit bull. Is that a weapon? Still .. I want my 9 back. I'll keep it fair and only load low powered indoor target rounds. When I can legally do so I figure get a twelve gauge. Those conditions don't require fairness. Michigan .. November of 2007
