Ayn Rand took government assistance while decrying others who did the same I have heard some pretty interesting and not so complimentary stories about Ayn Rand from people who knew her personally. Everything that I heard about her as a person makes me believe that she isn't the type of person I would want to hang with. But then again, there are many actors, musicians and artists who espouse philosophies that make me want to puke, and I still enjoy their art and respect their accomplishments.
