Just empty self serving platitudes... Funny that the objectives rationalize that it's human nature to be selfish and therefore the state shouldn't force them to be otherwise. Humans are naturally selfish, yes. The state should take up the slack. To moderate economic downturns and to provide help to those of lessor fortunes. The state does anything but moderate economic downturns. The state increases the frequency and amplitude of economic cycles. Meddling by the state creates more people of lesser fortune who then become dependent on the state. the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
