DVN: "The key metric for DVN is they do not carry that much debt based on their annual earnings."

Does seem low, although it would be hard for me to figure exactly what it will be. They've recently closed on several asset sales. Somebody wrote (I can't find the source) that with those sales DVN is (for now) close to no net debt.

However the WSJ reported 6/28 that DVN is now upping its cap expenditure by $1B. "Increasing its spending to between $5.5 billion and $5.9 billion will allow the company to ramp up drilling in oil fields in which it is well established and launch programs in several areas in which it has only recently gained a foothold, executives said in a webcast meeting with analysts."
