SIA and fair disclosure
and paying clients will get this kind of info before it's distributed to the crowd

The SIA has no format when it comes to reporting the global chip sales qualitatively except for breaking it down into regions.
Sometimes they mention CPU sales are strong or DRAM is strong but these comments are inconsistent.
I believe the SIA report is availble to the member companies as well as to paying clients.
Do paying clients obtain Intels (or any other member) sales data - if that's the case paying clients would have the sales data for 2 out of 3 months prior to earnings release.
Probably the SIA combines the data in different categories like NAND, DRAM, CPU etc. but because of regional breakdown certain customers can be identified.
For example in case of Intel there is only one competitor -
Is this in compliance with "fair disclosure"?
