Laughable if it weren't so seriously pathetic when anyone who had 1/2 a brain could see this was a complete set-up , but unfortunately not the NYC DA's office and their brilliant staff Given the nature of the US Press.... unfortunately I think the NYC's district attorney had to pursue things this far.. as you remember the initial press reports were that she was pious Muslim woman assaulted by wealthy man. The narrative is so juicy that there would have been very loud screams from the press if they had let him go after a cursory investigation. In this way his credibility will be restored albeit after a fair amount of cash spent and the loss of several months of his life.
