Something for me to follow up on later in the year when I decide to build a new machine.

techradar.com

AMD has worked for me, especially as they have been low power chips and therefore low temperature chips. The new stuff from Intel looks compelling but some lack of regard for the customer keeps me wary. With the marketing hotshots running amok, one has to keep a clear eye on total cost of the system, and things do change.

"last years technology" is always good enough for me, and time has proven the cost effectiveness.

I'm looking aound for an economic way to get into VM workstation technology at the same time. It's $180 for the full Win_7 version today. One is not necessarily stuck with a given OS though. -g- I think by about 2012 I will be able to do some serious work all the prices for a new machine loaded with all the gizmos. :-)
