Never kept track of how long it took me to pay taxes. Retired in '08, worked 10 months, made 80K, got a nice refund check from both the IRS and the state. Started getting monthly refunds for my previous SS payments, too.
Last year, my just out of school daughter worked 9 months and paid a shitload more than GE.

I don't consider taxes to be confiscation. I consider people who call it confiscation to be self-centered greedy schmucks trying to get a free ride, perfectly content to let hardworking citizens pay for the cops those parasites depend on to protect them from the hardworking citizens paying the bills; oh, stop the Mexicans, but don't make me pay for it.

Few Americans blame the President for the economy’s current condition, however. Only 8% think the Obama administration deserves most of the blame for the state of the nation’s economy. More say George W. Bush’s administration (26%) and Wall Street and financial institutions (25%) are mostly to blame. 11% blame Congress.

I'm all middle class and currently needing to work damn near 8 months out of 12 to pay my taxes.
