Got a funny card today from one of my HS friends...Picture of a 'Victorian dressed lady, hair back, glasses, choker ribbon to match her long dress, lace collars and cuffs, and of course a cameo at her neck....

she says: "You're getting to the age where you start to think of the Hereafter"...

Inside: "Crap! Now what did I come in Here After?"

LOL! The total Victorian lady said....WHAT? LOL!

I did get some bad news today....My Neurosurgeon's assistant called this morning with the MRI results from yesterday...they wanted to refer me right away to a Surgeon who is a Shoulder Specialist. Told her we would be gone till Sun the 10th....So they made the appointment for me to see him on Monday the 11th....When asked what was wrong...she was a bit reluctant to tell me everything, but said it was a torn rotator, lots of arthritis, 2 problems with the tendon, and some "other things"....

I could barely contain myself after we hung up, and even typing this, my eyes leak. Haven't had a real pitty party for a long time.... When I had the really bad problem with the right shoulder in 92, and had to have surgery, it was just awful to try to recover from....very painful. So...all I can hope is the Doc will have a magic wand and it will be an easy fix...it right now wakes me several times a night, goes to 'sleep and becomes numb' and other such 'stuff'.....I KNOW there are many other folks with much worse problems, so just try to contain myself....but it is hard to think about 'here we go again'....

I'm sure the trip will help get these cobwebs away from my brain, and straighten up my thinking....

Know what you mean about your close friends through the years...I too am very fortunate in that arena....loved your analogy of a lifeline....Isn't that the truth??!!

Re Rush ~~ for some years, I didn't like him too much as he was banging on the mic or something too much....but then I started to listen to him when I was working in the kitchen in the mornings here....so don't hear him all the time, but in so many ways, he brings things to my attention another view that we certainly don't get in the regular 'news'.....I've come to realize over the years just how biased the regular 'new' and commentary really is...At least we know for sure Rush isn't trying to be something he is not....while so many others on the alphabet channels are more biased than I ever dreamed our media would ever be. It is VERY difficult today to find real journalists or news broadcasters. Brit Hume and Brett Baier are both very good, IMO. I really admire Katherine Herriage too.

The Oregon Coastline is just beautiful. We stayed one time at the Inn at Otter Crest....Nearly all rooms were somehow built to appear carved in the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean...we had to take a tram to our room....I could have stayed there for weeks, with just some good books and a few projects while I just enjoyed the beautiful scenery....

HAPPY 4TH to you and your Hubby, and to all my Friends on GITS!
