He is talking baloney btw about support. I have got an original "service pack nothing" version of XP HOME and I have installed it a number of times over the years, and just now into a virtual machine. Microsoft windows update site updates it through all the service packs and the gazillion updates no problemo.

/edit. p.s: XP factoid. The updated version of XP has 25736 files on it and takes up 6.4GB of Hard Drive space with no applications loaded except AVG AV. That will include all the stored cab files of course.
