I've been reading more and more about thefts of various metal objects, such as fire hydrants, manhole covers, air conditioning copper, transformers, street light poles, utility equipment, heavy machinery, etc.

The crime wave seems to be increasing around Riverside, CA...

excerpt:

Water agency officials hope that rewards offered Friday will flush out whoever stole more than 60 fire hydrants, manhole covers and other pieces of utility equipment throughout Riverside County.

A $500 reward? What the hell? Mexican drug lords decapitate scores of innocent people for a fraction of that.

I don't recall ever reading about such incidents in the past before an illegal alien problem materialized.

I would bet the farm that hordes of illegal invaders are saying, "Wow, man! Look at all of this valuable stuff that those stupid gringos leave lying around unguarded. It's mine now!"

They're probably melting it down to make shanks or selling it for more drug loot. -ng-
