PMS,

I have read eBay's requirement that a piece of equipment must accompany any sale of an MS operating system. Some of the ads stipulate that the equipment item may/may not be working. I suspect the hard drive in question here probably is a dead item.

OTOH I have read ads for used PATA drives being sold 6-12 at a time at very low prices. I know for I have 12 of them here and all work OK and their combined purchase/shipping cost was less than $10/drive. They are all 40GB drives which is large enough to keep a working clone of the OS partition.

Lots of old inventory being closed out in lieu of almost standard use of SATA and Windows 7. Time sure does march on (lol).

HAH!

I have this brand new win7Pro Toshiba
had trouble doing a MS backup
MS help guy found a defective file
told me to call Toshiba for new win7 disks
Toshiba said disks free but postage/handling was to be $45
when I mentioned this to MSW guy,
MS sent them to me free of all charges

These XP disks is for that VMware player that was mentioned a few days ago as a virtual machine
