Ask the members - solicit input with a broadcast message to everyone inviting responses, maybe from a list of possibilities or throw it wide open. Organizations do that for internal communications all the time.

How he does it - that's up to him as the new owner, I am more interested in what new directions he may have in mind, not trying to push my view on everyone since I am only one member. He obviously has ample means, and he said himself the monthly running costs are minimal.

Mission statement - if I were taking over a large Internet community, I would have an introductory statement in mind to inform people, outlining why I was taking over and what it could mean for everyone. But I used to work in public affairs so maybe I take a different view from a garage techie where Brad started out. He is now a wealthy garage techie with a large menu of possible moves ahead of him.

My final word on this subject is to ask that he makes a systematic effort to engage the members on SI's future instead of acting like one of the many previous owners who remained the Grand Wizard behind the curtain 99% of the time. GNET, ADVFN, Bob, they all kept the management exclusively at the top and close to the vest.

PS If I was a constant critic or griper about SI, I wouldn't have been here for almost 15 years with two major threads and a high 5-digit message count. My interest is helping to shape the future and make SI even better. But planning the process is up to Brad.

Well said S, though i think you're a little hard on Bob who did save this place a couple of times, i sure never found him hard to deal with

SI is a big part of the reason i'm on the net at all ... swore for years i'd never have a computer, then in 1996 a friend was preaching the web, showed me three sites on his - John Woods' Stockwatch which was newly online and far more useful that way, Adrian du Plessis' howenow.com site [since deceased, the site not AdP], and Brad's SI ... after a short while, most time was spent on SI and often still is, i've never left, learned more of what counts here than in three decades of speculation in the oldtime manner

So, definitely don't want a refund, no ... and not worried about SI in Brad's hands ... just one question -

When does Jill show up? -g- ... should have a royal visit, at least
