How about changing the colors of the envelopes in the mail box? We could get the green one to flash when there's mail and it would turn red when there is no mail and orange when there is a distinct possibility of mail. Here in Canada we get mail strikes often and during the last one last week they taped the street mail boxes shut. Can this be done if a person doesn't want any mail? Maybe a flapping lid opening and closing ;-)
