Only if the IGNORE feature works to it's outmost as i've commented on previously and have made it to the attention of Brad which i'm sure he's looking into (ie. dissolve the "empty" ignored box entirely). That's only one part of the fix though and i agree on getting the senseless one liners, O/T crap etc; under control, a posting limit or careful monitoring of "hot spots" on SI should be seriously considered within the honchos at SI (that includes the duties of the TOU violation guy Ron). SI needs a good cleaning just the same as other sites (ie. there's a reason "why" Oiljack created his own thread at IV btw), it should be about quality that keeps/draws folks into this space.....NOT....quantity.

Let's see, a person "banters" 90% of the time but the 10% of times there is a valuable post for you you can't see it because you have decided that people are all good or all bad, having no redeeming qualities at all. Another example; you have a child with ADHD so why not tape his mouth up since most of what he says bothers you? I think ignores or bans or people marks should be decided upon by a persons intent which is the same way court cases are judged. In court there are many sentencing options but only one is terminal. Some here are worse human beings than the people they ban. Heck even Jehovah's witnesses will allow people who have been "dis-fellowshipped" back into the 'fold' if they change their minds and want back in. It's all about intent ! I believe that people do the best they know how and don't come on SI with the intent to ruin things for others. I have hardly ever seen the Stockhouse kind of trash on this site and I don't think the changes here will invite the children over here.
