You have a valid observation, however for those patients who are amenable to the treatment and have the necessary factors that make them treatable, EECP seems to me to be the way to go.
It is far safer, with no downside risk . Preferable to a chancey invasive procedure where percentages of deaths come into play.

The effective time of the treatment is said to be three to five years, at which time it can be repeated.
