Funny you should write that: < cretins on capitol hill haven't any inkling of clue that they are collectively playing with fire in vicinity of gas depot >

Last night I dreamed about a fuel station and a guy working there was pulling out a cigarette to light, albeit some distance from the actual fueling operations. I was equilateral triangle distance from both [some 15 metres] and was evaluating the hazard and decided that he was probably going to get away with it.

Having been a BP bloke, commonly in the presence of loads of flammable liquids, and well aware of toxic and flammable hazards, it was likely just a replay of such ideas. But on the other hand, in recent decades I've had nothing to do with such things but have been contemplating the cascading credit crunch to catastrophe.

When young, I was part of a bomb club. If constructing a human bomb, I'd say we are well prepared. We have loaded up with humans [all-time world record by an order of magnitude - 6 billion compared with 1 billion a century or two ago], piled high [nearly up to a kilometre in Dubai and hundreds of metres in Hong Kong and many cities], with no visible means of support nearby [food, water, rubbish dumps], questionable cash flow, geopolitical megalomania, with nukes, any amount of artillery and other weaponry, lots of diseases lurking [H5N1, sars and friends], loaded up with debt and free-loading entitlement [government spivs and their electorates], serfitude for the rest, living life as a state chattel [as though a vote is some compensation], no "New World" to flee to.

There are no signs "Smoking not permitted". In fact, ignition sources are ready to flick at the click of a mouse. Financial weapons of mass destruction, as Warren Buffett described them. news.bbc.co.uk
