Just another case of justice denied because of the possibility of the defendant being subjected to a medieval punishment.

All civilized countries and most states no longer have the possibility of capital punishment.

Most of the south and other throwback areas of the country have retained that pathway to political success for whack job prosecutors and sitting Luddite governors, the death penalty.

That is reserved primarily for minority folk what needs to be kept from getting too uppity.

It is real feather in the cap of the prosecutor who can get a conviction and death penalty for a cute white girl.

The jury opted to withold the feather.

They don't need to look for the "real" murderer she was acquited rather than being murdered by society.
