Their amazing ability to stay on message, even if it is an obvious lie.

Always amazed at how these guys are able to stand up with a straight face and proclaim their dedication to producing "Jobs" while doing their level best to stifle any actual attempt to reduce unemployment.

Sadly, Americans are more apt to take to take them at their word because the exercise of actually connecting the dots seems beyond the grasp of many folks.

Having the same funding sources, the (D)'s find themselves unable to separate convincingly from the (R)'s. If you look at the congressional approval ratings, the public sees both parties as about the same. 30 approve vs 60 disapprove for both.

The continual (R) consistent lie fountain probably contributes to that. They obviously meet, get the latest Frank Luntz focus group data and phrasings, and agree on the exact phrasing for lies, and then you hear the decision on the Sunday talking heads programs, as different (R)'s spout the exact same lies.

en.wikipedia.org

"Luntz frequently tests word and phrase choices using focus groups and interviews. His stated purpose in this is the goal of causing audiences to react based on emotion. "80 percent of our life is emotion, and only 20 percent is intellect. I am much more interested in how you feel than how you think." "If I respond to you quietly, the viewer at home is going to have a different reaction than if I respond to you with emotion and with passion and I wave my arms around. Somebody like this is an intellectual; somebody like this is a freak."[2]"

Why the (D)'s don't do the same with the truth is the mystery. Frank Luntz wonders openly why they've never hired him. Perhaps the idea seems "dirty"?
