Excellent modification, Brad, you just saved some of us tons of scrolling time on threads where we want to follow a few regulars and ignore the rest.

I just tried it. I went to a thread that had one new post, figured I'd read it and then view the previous 50 to see how it worked. It turns out that post was by someone on ignore, and I actually saw the post ...

I then went to the previous 50, and the feature worked fine. When I got to the end and hit next 50, that original post was now ignored.

(1) ignore the messages completely as some have suggested or

(2) have a very subtle indication that a message has been ignored like a single grayed- out line between messages:

-- message from SI Brad ignored --

Such that if you click on the "message ignored" it dynamically expands to display the hidden message?

--------------

Checked it out, good stuff and much better than before...thanks Brad!

In seeing your #2 as i mentioned to...."check out", i'd now opt for it to be completely dissolved (#1). Micromanaging aside - it's now a whole lot more tolerable and time efficient - that's the end game we're striving for at SI - i'm happy either way!

Personally, I think it's gratifying to have an idea of how many messages you are filtering out.

Is of no importance for me personally to keep track of.

I wish this thread name would start with SI or Silicon Investor so all the similar "house" threads sort together.

At first I didn't notice the ignored posts especially, probably (since I didn't see them), when it was only 1, but as a group of 2 or 6 or 9, I see them, but I would prefer that

Ignored Message from aaaaaaaaaaaa (View)

be centered.

I don't mind seeing them in my field of vision.
It takes longer to look over to the right.

But I do mind 9 ignores and 1 post when I clicked Next 10. Could you post the # a user has set plus the Ignores (when Ignore is On), so I get through 10 at a time if that's what my setting is for?

I agree it is useful "to have an idea of how many messages you are filtering out" and who they are from.
