And that Bush's Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, reiterated the point in the context of further ridiculing the congressional budgetary process. Rather than trying to make it a partisan issue, it is more reasonable to interpret it as an indictment of having government do ONE DAMNED THING more than what is absolutely essential. Starving the government of funds is the only way to get this absurdity under control. And the Defense Dept spends $63 Mn sponsoring NASCAR race car owners and millionaire drivers and she says $20 Mn is enough. And the repugs say NO they need this Socialism...and on and on.... Arguably a reasonable recruiting expense. Who is doing the "destroying".? Congress. But it is inarguable that democrats are more culpable when it comes to bad spending decisions than are Republicans.

Your socialists were in control of spending from Jan 2007 to Jan 2011. YOU flushed trillions down the drain and overseas. The best you can do is a few million on defense, why don't you tell everyone about the trillion in TARP that didn't go to TARP that your team embezzled?
